ダウランド・プロジェクトは、古楽の歌唱曲をメインに、ジョン・サーマンのサックスやリコーダーを絡ませるという手法で、昔「オフィチウム」が売れた時に、やはり合唱曲にヤン・ガルバレクのサックスを絡ませたものが売れたので、その延長線上にあるのでしょう。

(08/03/02)１０曲目と１７曲目はMilos Valent、John Surman、Stephan Stubbsのインプロヴィゼーションで、他の曲はトラディショナルだったり、１２－１７世紀の曲。ここでも、昔の雰囲気を保ちつつも、ジョン・サーマンが以前にはなかった色付けをして、皆で過去の歌に割と自然なアレンジを加えた歌唱の曲が多いです。１５曲目はStubbsのソロ。やや薄暗い中世の香りが漂ってきますが、ゆったりと時間が進んでいき、癒される感じです。
